West African Dance
Internationally recognized (Ralph Lemon's Geography Trilogy, 1997, 2000, 2002, 2003 and 2005) and Connecticut's master West African choreographer and teacher, Djedje Djedje Gervais leads a dynamic K-12 introductory (45 min.) or master dance teaching class (90-min.), recommended for dance students, dancers, teens and adults) in traditional and contemporary West African dancing. Originally from the Abidjan, Ivory Coast, Gervais works with master drummers, Dadie Kacou and Goulei Vincent to bring to life these exciting, high-energy classroom extravaganzas.
